1. Rubber Soul - The Beatles
Where The Beatles and George Martin together reached their highest potential for the first time. The whola album sounds amazing and is impossible to get tired of.
In My Life, The Word, Michelle
I´m Looking Through You, You Won´t See Me,
If I Needed Someone, Think For Yourself
Recorded in Africa (Lagos, Nigeria) with just Paul, Linda, Denny and Geoff Emerick as engineer. Great vibes over the whole album! Top Tracks:
Nineteen hundred and eighty-five
3. A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles
The first album I heard with The Beatles and still one of my favorites. Never gets old. Love the cover and love the songs. I Should have known better will always be a personal favorite. Other top tracks on the European release:
I'm Happy Just To Dance With You
4. Walls And Bridges - John Lennon
1974, the lost weekend. Recorded in New York during the summer. Probably the most interesting album of John since it contains such high and low, fast and slow, calm and wild compositions which also reflects the actual lifestyle during the lost weekend. Top tracks:
Whatever Gets You Through The Night
Nobody Loves You (When You're Down And Out)
5. Hot Rats - Frank Zappa
Frank Zappa, 1969. After the dissolution of the original Mothers Of Invention. This is a instrumental masterpiece (except the vocals from Captain Beefheart on the track Willie The Pimp). On a dessert Island you will listen to the albums over and over again, and that´s why this is a great pick because you can always find something new while listening to Peaches en Regalia or Son Of Mr. Green Genes.
6. Can't Buy A Thrill - Steely Dan
The first album of Steely Dan (1972). Nothing ever sounded more Los Angeles than this album. A complete masterpiece and a bit underrated by the general public in my opinion.
Only A Fool Would Say That
7. Revolver - The Beatles
Timeless album from 1966 with the black and white album cover made by Klaus Voormann, If you have to choose one Beatle-album this is a good choice since it´s right in the middle, between the early years and the late records. Top Tracks:
8. Hunky Dory - David Bowie
Released in 1971, this is the Bowie-album which he will be remembered by for many generations to come. Mick Ronson on guitar sounds better than ever and Bowies songwriting reached all-time high on the top tracks such as:
9. Blood On The Tracks - Bob Dylan
On a desert island you will need some Bob Dylan. So that's why I choose this album from 1975. Tuned in E, recorded with his brother in Minneapolis.
You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go
10. Cycles - Frank Sinatra
A man and his music. Never better illustrated than on this Sinatra-album from 1968.
